DriftTech™ Assure helps rinse off common hitchhikers and surface contaminants before plants enter display or aquarium systems.
DriftTech™ Assure is formulated to simplify the preparation of ornamental and aquarium plants while minimizing plant stress. Each pod contains a precise amount of aluminum sulfate designed to work in 1 gallon (3.8 L) of water. When used properly, Assure helps reduce surface debris and soft-bodied hitchhikers, which may be present on newly acquired plants.
Unlike harsher chemical dips that can significantly damage plants, Assure provides a gentle, predictable pre-treatment that preserves plant health when used as suggested. This makes it ideal for hobbyists who want a safe and effective way to clean plants before introducing them into aquariums or display systems.

Recommended Use
- Dissolve 1 pod in 1 gallon (3.8 L) of water. Stir gently to ensure complete dissolution. The film will start dissolving after 30 seconds of contact with water.
- Submerge plants fully for at least 1 hour. This allows the solution to interact with surface debris and soft-bodied organisms, reducing their presence without harming delicate plant tissues.
- Plants may remain in the solution for up to 24 hours, depending on species tolerance. Monitor sensitive species closely. Check the next sections for guidance.

Do not exceed 12 hours for most species. Extended soaking beyond this can damage delicate roots and leaves. Please consult Plant Sensitivity section in the product insert.
- Rinse plants thoroughly with clean water after soaking before introducing them to aquariums or display systems.
How It Works
Aluminum sulfate in Assure gently lowers the water pH and interacts with surface debris on plants. This helps to:
- Reduce algae films and detritus, making plants cleaner and easier to inspect.
- Encourage detachment of soft-bodied hitchhikers, such as planaria, tiny slugs, and delicate larvae.
- Condition plants for safe handling, reducing stress during transfer into aquariums or display systems.
The effectiveness of Assure is based on the time of exposure and plant tolerance. Short soaks (1–4 hours) are suitable for most plants and reduce surface debris efficiently, while longer soaks (up to 12 hours) may be used for hardier species or higher-risk source plants.
